Don’t Let Her Be

Targeted

Acrylic on Canvas

2025

With the rate of predation, socially it feels as if I’m only an object for others to obtain and lock away in a shadow box. My failures, oddities, deficits, abnormalities on display as entertainment for others. Caked in dust once the interest is gone.

Who cares if, up there, she’s dying with each passing breath?

Her display is beautiful; what else will we have to look at?

Once she has decayed and is getting rotten,

it’ll be too late to save her, she’ll be long forgotten.

A death to one is a renewal to another.

Don’t be shocked when she resurrects

after you sacrificed her for your comfort.

- Don’t be afraid of the protectors of transitions. -

Be grateful the crows and owls walk with you through the darkness.

What’s scarier than being alone in the dark with monsters?
