Selected Works

Viewer, as you walk up to this piece, you will find a feminine figure centered on the canvas. She has flowing purple hair, with highlights made out of glitter in the shapes of stars and moons. Although facing and making eye contact with the viewer, a large masculine hand enters the frame from the right side of the canvas. This hand forcefully manipulates the feminine’s face away from the viewer. Her facial expression is shocked with a hint of terror. The background of a serene pool blue with chunky paint strokes, evokes a feeling of movement behind her, yet blurry enough that it gives no details of her situation.

A feminine figure with her back to the viewer is looking over her shoulder to make eye contact. However, only the figures face from above the mouth is visible. Dark, curly, abstract hair flows in front of and around her neck on her left side, as the rest falls beside her face to her right. Her back from behind her left shoulder, takes up the majority of the canvas. On her skin, rainbows and prismatic swipes of paint are used to define the shape of her body.

A dark blue night sky created from trips and splats of paint, is bursting with the abundance of abstract stars glowing and glimmering. From the bottom of the canvas, an outstretched left hand is reaching up into the sky. The pointer finger makes contact with a stream of starstuff, reminiscent of the Milky Way. Upon contact, a shimmering thread of light wraps itself around the finger, down the palm, and around the wrist and and outstretched forearm.

Underwater, two green zombie-like arms are forcefully holding a feminine figure down. This figure’s contorted face is screaming with eyes slammed shut. In front of her face and floating hair, an air bubble erupts from the back of her throat, collecting in front of her forehead as it rises to the surface. Light streaming in from the surface of the water is depicted in the gradiation of the background from neon green to an indigo blue, with streaks of light dancing across.

A large mouth and front teeth make up the majority of this canvas. Oversized fingers are delicately balancing a transparent blue pill in front of the mouth. Get closer, viewer, inside this blue pill is a lobotomy scene. Two surgeons under bright operating room lights are slicing apart a brain on a table as blood spills out.

This shadow box with wooden sides displays a feminine figure with arms outstretched, pinned to the box. Pins stab her through both wrists and hands, the center of her sternum, and directly in the center of her abdomen. Her ethereal fairy wings behind her body are covered in shades of luminescent greens, burgundy branches with stylized leaves and abstract rosebuds dot her wings. A crow is seen perched above her on the left side of the canvas, with a barn owl sitting on her left arm (on the right side of the canvas). Her burgundy flowing hair frames her face and falls down to her hips behind her. Her face has desiccated into a skull, while blood pours out of the wounds from the pins. Her abdomen and womb space has been represented by a psychic’s crystal ball (pierced by a pin), and the imagery morphs into a royal scepter when viewed with the shadow depicting the shape of her legs. Below her on the purple velvet background, a luna moth and monarch butterfly have also been pinned to display in the shadow box. Look closely viewer, that luna moth may be more observant than you realize. When you think no one is watching, an observant pair of hidden eyes may be observing you.

This magenta, hot pink background has a dark purple, black vignette surrounding the borders of the canvas. Encase in the spirals of black celestial glitter, is a still life scene. On a flat, undefinable surface, from left to right, are a goat skull (I see you, capricorns), a trashed cigarette with lipstick, an ethereal bottle of wine, a realistic wine glass, also with lipstick stains, an open container of prescription pills on its side with contents spilling out, and a shriveling black dahlia flower.

Here you will see legs crouched down on the left side of the canvas. This black and white portrayal depicts in first-person, what it feels like to be doubled over in of soul crushing pain. The viewers shadow is shown to the right of bent legs, evoking a sense of wings unfurling with the play on shadows and light. Eventually the shadow fades back into the white of the canvas.

On the left of the canvas there is a childlike depiction of a house. White, stained and dirty walls are topped by a dingy brick-red roof. Four dark windows are on the side of the house facing the viewer and two are on the right side of the house. The house is perched on abstract grass against a fiery burnt orange sky. To the right of the canvas the back of a feminine figure in a large white dress is running away from the viewer towards a tree in the distance (center right of the canvas).

On a white canvas, a humanoid abstract figure of a head and shoulders is in the bottom left corner. An olive border seperates this figure from the remaining canvas. Inside the olive border are the words “What do you mean you don’t leave space in your visual field to think?” Dotting the words are small shapes and mini portraits hiding among the letters.
